Kansas State University (K-State) provides national radon services and projects for the US EPA through a cooperative agreement.  Responsibilities include the National Radon Hotlines, referrals to State Radon ProgramsRadon Test Kit Orders, support for regional stakeholder meetings and national conferences, and other technical assistance and outreach activities.

What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and chemically inert radioactive gas. It is formed by the natural radioactive decay of uranium in rock, soil, and water. It can be found in all 50 states. Testing for it is the only way of telling how much is present.
