Alexandra Bahadori, Radon Programs at Kansas State University 
Alexandra Bahadori is a Radon Specialist with the K-State Radon Programs at Kansas State University. She received her Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida in 2010. Alexandra maintains and operates the Kansas State University Radon Chamber, conducting device performance tests, spikes, and calibrations. She also regularly interfaces with the public via the EPA Radon hotline and is a radon instructor for the K-State Radon Program. 
 
Peggy Bagnoli, EPA Headquarters
Peggy Bagnoli is a senior environmental protection specialist at the EPA’s Center for Radon and Air Toxics for the EPA’s Indoor Environments Division at headquarters in Washington, DC. She serves as the co-lead for the State and Tribal Indoor Radon Grants program, project officer and co-lead with ALA on the National Radon Action Plan, and also works with the Homes Team on the Indoor AirPlus Program. She supports CDC with the Radon Data Collection effort at CDC’s Environmental Public Health Tracking Network.  
 
Peggy has over 33 years of experience working for the federal government–7 years with the Air Force and 26 with EPA: which includes the Indoor Environments Division, the Toxics Release Inventory Program, Sector Strategies Colleges and University’s Sectors Program, and EPA New England’s Pollution Prevention Program. 
 
Molly Schreiner, EPA Region 7
Molly grew up in Akron, Ohio with her twin sister, older brother, and her parents. She loves sports and the outdoors. Her other hobbies she enjoys are cooking, baking, and binging on her favorite shows and movies. 
 
Currently, Molly is an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Air and Radiation Division in the Grants Partnerships Programs Section at EPA Region 7. Prior to joining the EPA, she received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, and from there she was a graduate student and Research Assistant at Boston University School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts where she received her Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health. She is excited to help protect human health and the environment in her position at the EPA in region 7.

Brandi Hamilton, Missouri Radon Program. 
Brandi has worked for the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services since 2020 and has been with the Missouri Radon Program since 2022. Before joining MDHSS, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Wittenberg University and a Master of Science Degree in Geology from Ohio University. She enjoys studying interdisciplinary issues and has presented research at the national level on topics ranging from microbial ecology to planetary geophysics. In addition to working with Radon, she is a member of the MDHSS Health & Risk Assessment Program and a certified Lead Risk Assessor. She is happy to be able to use her skills in her current roles to help achieve the MDHSS mission of “protecting health and keeping people safe.”

Randy Lane, Iowa Radon Program 
Has worked for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services for 13 years, the first six being as a Program Planner for the Bureau of Environmental Health Services where in 2014 he began assisting with the Iowa Radon Program. In January of 2017 he accepted a position as a Health Physicist 2 with the Department’s Bureau of Radiological Health and filled the role as the coordinator of the Iowa Radon Program. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Iowa State University.

Mark Ungerer, Kansas Radon Program

Mark Ungerer is the Supervisor of the Radon, Environmental Radiation Surveillance, Right to Know, and Radiological Emergency Preparedness sections of the KDHE Radiation Control Program.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in sustainable living and a master’s degree in environmental science.  He began his work with Radiation Control in 2016 overseeing the Environmental Radiation Surveillance program around the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant, became the Lead Worker in 2019, and the Supervisor in 2023.  He currently lives in Topeka, Kansas with his wife and three children.  

Adrienne Moody, Nebraska Radon Program

Adrienne Moody entered the role as the Nebraska Radon and Indoor Air Quality Program Manager in October 2023. Prior to this, she had over 9 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation for the blind as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and a vocational rehabilitation technician. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in public health. She currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with her fiancé and cat.

What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and chemically inert radioactive gas. It is formed by the natural radioactive decay of uranium in rock, soil, and water. It can be found in all 50 states. Testing for it is the only way of telling how much is present.
